Reisling Stakes
The Reisling Stakes is a quality Group 2 race for two-year-old fillies conducted at the picturesque Rosehill Gardens Racecourse in mid to late March each year as part of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.
Run over a 1200m sprint distance, the Group 2 Reisling Stakes is worth approximately $300,000 in prize money and attracts the best juvenile fillies, many heading towards the richest race for two-year-olds of the year, the $3.5 million Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) in early April.

The Reisling Stakes winner is exempt from ballot for the Golden Slipper.
Previously known as the Reisling Slipper Trial, the Reisling Stakes is held on the prestigious Coolmore Stud Classic Day along with five other Group status races.
The marquee event of the day is the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Classic (1500m) while the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) is another highlight.
Reisling Stakes History
First conducted in 1973 when Favourite Girl claimed victory, the Reisling Stakes began as a Principal race.
Elevated to a Group 3 event in 1980 the Reisling Stakes continued to grow in prestige and in 1986 became a Group 2 race.
Prior to 2005 the race was registered as the Reisling Sipper Trial and for one year in 2002 was known as the Seppelt Salinger Slipper Trial.
In 2009 the race was entitled the Perfect Vision Ilasik Stakes due to sponsorship, then in 2010 the event was run as the McGrath Stakes and was won by quality Queensland filly Military Rose from Obsequious and Solar Charged.
Reisling Stakes Betting
There are a number of earlier Sydney races for two-year-old fillies that serve as a good preparatory run for horses heading towards the Reisling Stakes and that punters can use as a guide when enjoying a bet on the race.
Watch for the top performing fillies in events such as the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill in late February, the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes (1100m) at Warwick Farm in early March and the Group 3 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) at Randwick the week before.
The ideal lead-up to the Golden Slipper a fortnight later, the Reisling Stakes / Golden Slipper double is a popular market during the autumn and the last filly to take out both races in the same year was Polar Success in 2003.
The best Reisling Stakes betting tip is to lock in longer odds and enjoy bigger winning payouts by placing your wagers at an online bookmaker such as SportsBet or the Tabcorp-owned Luxbet.
